It has been forever since my last update. Well, I am two weeks away from graduating! I am so excited that I can hardly stand it. Trinity offered me a teaching position and I am going to take it! I will be teaching 7th grade English next year. I am looking forward to it. Other than that....I am in love with an awesome man of God named Shon. He is a God-send. He lifts me up and encourages me to be more like Christ. I love him and hope to marry him some day. Ok, well I am super tired, so...

Why are some people so stuck in their ways? I was talking to some ladies at my church tonight and I let it slip that I was interested in a black guy. They about freaked out! And they threw in that verse that says ,"God is not the author of confusion!" If they read the surrounding text, they would know that Paul was talking about speaking in tongues in the church. What is so confusing about black and white? Why can't people be a little more color-blind? Why can't my dad be color-blind?

Wow! I am home...i don't like that. I didn't want tour to end. I love having ample opportunities to minister to people and be around people who love the Lord like I do. It is so weird being home. I have friends who are passionate for the Lord, but no many of them. And plus, they are really busy and it is hard to just jump into life that has been moving on without me for so long.
I have been praying about what I am going to do with next week. I just got home from tour Monday and Cracker Barrel cannot put me on next week's scedule. I cannot sit on my butt and do nothing for another week; I just might go CrAzY! While I was praying on Wednesday, the Lord gave me an idea...What about Word of Life? I counselled there two years ago. I called my best friend and pitched the idea to her. Her husband talked to the higher ups and they said that they really need me! SOMEONE NEEDS ME!!! So I am packing my bags. I will be leaving tonight (friday night) and staying with Rachel for the weekend before the campers come on Monday. Wow! I'm so nervous! It has been two years since I did this. I hope I catch the swing of things really soon. Pray for me that my week will be encouraging to my walk with Christ and ministering the kids that will be in my cabin.
While I am gone....you can leave me a nice encouraging note that I can check when I get back. I love you....

I am home. Not too excited about it...but God can use me in Jacksonville as well as in churches around the east coast. I can't wait to see my best friend next weekend!

Summer tour

Tour has been great so far! We were in North Carolina for about a week and in New York City for a weekend. On Saturday, the pastor took us around the city. We went to ground zero, Times Square, and Grand Central. We were able to take pictures at the steps where President George Washington was sworn into office and went inside the church on the corner of Wall Street and Broadway (you know what I'm talking about if you've seen National Treasure). We were also allowed to go into Tiffany's. Colby asked the man who worked there if I could try one on, for I told him that if he bought one for me, we could go to a chapel and get married that very same day!!! ha ha. I put the ring on my finger and said, "Colby, how much money do you have on you?" He only had a little over $100. The ring was around $95,000. All of us girls were able to try Tiffany's engagement rings on. It was a dream come true. We also took this cool picture under a sign that says, "No standing anytime." It was a most pleasureable experience.

This morning, church was so cool. I have been sick for a week. I am at the junk in the throat stage. I was really worried when Scotty put my song on the list of songs to play. The Lord really opened up my throat and allowed my voice to sound like I was all better. The church congregation was a big mix of nationalities. I asked the preacher's wife if there were any Haitians. I was on the look out for them. I heard one black lady with a strong accent so I said, "Do you understand Creole?" But of course I said it in Creole. She answered with an affirmative and I talked with her and her sister for a while. They said that I was speaking well and that made me feel really good! I explained to them that I was learning it because of Genelle. They were quite impressed.

After the service, we had an hour to go down the street and get some grub before the afternoon service started. Instead of having an evening service, they have an afternoon service. People bring food, or buy food, and eat together at the church. It was really cool. Tonight, we are in Connecticuit. I was really sad to leave New York. I was really liking it. When I get home in July, I will upload some pictures. I hope your summer is going well. I'm already working on my second book. Oh yeah!!! The house at which we are staying tonight has lots of gym equipment! Tiffany and I are going to work out and impress the guys. We don't have to wake up tomorrow until 10ish! Praise Jehovah...

So Genelle and I have changed status....again. We are not special friends or "just friends." we are actually only friends. I wish I could talk my dad into letting me date him, but I cannot. It hurts too much to hang around him, so we are not talking or hanging out for the rest of the summer. We might play tennis everynow and then next semester. I just don't know how I am going to get through the summer...dramatic, eh? He is one of my best friends. I am myself around him and he likes me for it! Anyways. Just wanted to vent and whine about how much the summer is going to stink.

Plagiarism

Today I heard a rumor that my literary criticism teacher had suspiscion that I plagiarized my ten page research paper which was our final grade for the class. I went up to Trinity today to talk to her about it. When I asked her, she began to laugh. She said that she told one of her classes that my paper was so good that she suspected that I had ripped it off. She Googled the title of my paper, "The Monster in the Mirror", and found that someone had written a book with the same title on the same topic. I had no idea!!! The more she researched, the more she was convinced that the paper was indeed my own handiwork. She complimented me and said it was a great paper and it was a pleasure to read. Wow! What a burden to be lifted. I was so thankful when I left her classroom. She said that I should look into being a writer. I wouldn't go that far. After all of that, she gave me an a on the paper and in the class! Praise Jehovah~
